Exploit Doppler radar data, in cooperation with SMHI, to improve their use in weather forecasting procedure [WP2]. Increase the quality of present state VAD products. Study the feasibility of multiple Doppler retrieving from a radar network.
Interaction of radar propagation and its modelling with NWP models. Provide and test a forward propagation model for assessing the geometrical distortion of observed radar image. Create an operational program for identifying and possibly correcting propagation anomalies in radar measurements. Test the model on a parallel machine for "real-time" purposes [WP6].
Review present multi-polarizations rainfall estimation techniques [WP8].
